2 Pirate poems
wirell'n wenchThe wench she danced by fire light
As fiddles sang into the night
the barung kept it's jolly beat
to be matched by her dirty feet
She danced as tho she knew love caress
Her arms up held in tenderness
In form so wicked and yet devine
Her supple torso kept the time
Aye the blokes, they stared in vain
take'n in her lustful frame
We'd clap and stomp to erge her on
Untill music stoped and her dance was gone
The Sinking of Merry Rose
O the blue set Sea the sun shines brite
Me crew's a beggin for a fight
From crows nest high, the watcher shouts
For stearsman now to come about
Three mast's Three sails O shine'n white
She'll be sunk before tonight
We prime the cannon with powder and shot
the boys all pray'n they'll hit the spot
Our canvas full we be close'n in
not to raid this ship would be a sin
As cannon bare and shots ring out
I hear her captain voice cry out
With hooks and lines We prepare to board
When I hear their crew cry out O'Lord
They pray in vain as me crew attacked
We swung across and drove them back
As cutless rang and pistols flaired
Men cry out as fleash was tared
The blood it flowed the decks were slick
As bodies piled up so thick
Me crew looked about their fighting done
To catch their breath our fight was won
then off to plunder under burning mast
we must be quick she was sinking fast
Gold And silver and silk had come
Onto our ship as well as rum
We cast off to watch her burn and sink
As fiddles play we'll have a drink
We'll lick our wounds and bind them up
Will fill our glass and drink like pups
And all of this I put to prose
the sinking of the Merry Rose
