A Broken Circle

A Broken Circle

To live in fear of the people who are supposed to show you love,  truly is a tragedy, no child should endure.

When love gets mixed with abuse, a child will feel emotionally abandoned and lost, this is for sure.

The arms that reach out for a, loving hug, so rare and seldom felt...

Are hugs taken in fear when they are attached to the hands, holding the abusive belt.

Confusion thrives behind the lips of a gentel goodnight kiss.

All to often the same lips, hide the venemous tongue, which spit the words a child will never miss.

When alone there is only fear as the anger swells like a lit match.

Tossed about into walls, like people playing catch.

A child finds it hard to understand, too young to live this sort of life.

Lots of hard work must be done to overcome and break these abusive circles of strife.

Breaking the circles becomes a choice, early, in the young ones mind.

For if not broken, it will be the same circle, your own child will find....

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
