A Change Is Needed

Oh how I despise days like this
When gloom and sadness fills the air
When I feel a failure to make my life exist
With more love, joy and happiness.
When people around me have not to say
A kind word, a gentle touch or caring thoughts with their play.

Escape to where is what I need to know
There must be a place where I can go!
But I have found not a place to be
Except in my thoughts and in my dreams.
I am here to perform a task or a fault to overcome.

Help me invisible God to understand and learn to cope
For my insides cry for peace love and hope
I'm like a child in need of care
Hanging onto a blanket full of despair.

Teach to be kind with words and deeds
Dissolve the anger that has grown from a seed
That was planted long ago and watered daily
With negative words and acts that are surly

For a miracle I beg on bended knees
Change me inside and out with joy and glee
Or change the ones who cast the stones and abuse
For without one or the other my life I lose.
