A COUNTY FAIR

Poem Commentary

Sometime a glance look, One will take a chance and view the yesteryears and memories of unrequited love, steals its way
to the window of your eyes, never to replace the one you are
with but to remember an emotion, a dream made in another
day and another time. A small but hidden memory or a slight
smell of cologne worn by the "then" memory yet to be and the
floodgate is opened only to become closed yet again.

A COUNTY FAIR

                              A COUNTY FAIR

A county fair
A swarm-worker and queen
A slight buzz
A flutter of air
A glimpse
Movement of the past-present
A trace-a memory
Forgotten times -
Rapid - a clock
Another day - tommorrow
A memory -- again

                                    We sit
                                    She looks
                                    A soothing morsel
Love and a friend of memory
                                     days long ago
                                    Fleeting memory
                                    Another love
                                    We walk,

                                            Separately.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
