    A Delicate Touch

    It was only a touch
    It wasn't really very much
But when you whispered what you said
The words went dancing through my head
    I started to grin
I couldn't hardly keep it in
All that happy bubbling way down deep
    Suddenly begin to creep
I felt my heart beat at a quicker pace
And a smile came on my face
I was so glad no one could see how uncontrolled I was
All of this was happening because
I remembered how you felt when you touch me.

It was only just a touch
    It wasn't really very much
But when you pressed against me lightly
and for a moment squeezed my hand so tightly
I looked into your eyes and I was so surprised to find
You had a feeling quite like mine
Right now I am thinking of tonight
when we planned everything so right
For the first time we can be alone to explore
and discover if there is something more
    Than a simple touch
We first though wasn't really much

    WOW. I loved it.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
