A Love to Die For

A Love to Die For

Seething schemes and tattered dreams, and a price that must be paid;
On countless nights, when daily slights upon his ego wore.
His burdens weighed on his manhood, frayed;
She'd pay for the sins he bore.

Angelic face of porcelain trace, and alabaster feel;
scarce slowed his wrath while in his path, as he barreled through the door.
Despite her appeal and waiting meal,
He'd ignore her plea: "No more".

She lay there dead, on a blood-soaked bed, her love now in decay;
Her body smashed, and prayers now dashed, they placed her on the floor;
And across the threshold carried her away,
dressed all in in white once more.

Their marital bliss had gone amiss, though she never harbored doubt;
through countless nights, and tearful flights from beatings by the score.
Her love bled out, from a heart devout,
She'll bear his sins no more.

chills man..............................................................

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
