    A Mother's Love

    You are my first born,
    A dream come true.
    A special feeling,
    Just for you.
    Ten little fingers,
    Ten little toes.
I love your great big eyes,
    And your little tiny nose.
    You are my first born,
    Oh yes you are.
    You are my first born,
    My shinning star.

This is a poem I would read to my child if I had one.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
