Alone In the Beyond

    Alone In the Beyond

    Dusk, a creation beyond beauty.

The coolness of the earth below me,

Yet, there is nothing next to me,

I feel alone, I need you here.

The stars, a map to a world beyond.

I yearn for your presence; I wait for your love.

    Beautiful, bright, but tonight, dimmed.

To listen to your inner song, I would give anything

My diamond, my star, where have you gone?

Your voice is all I need,

Just your touch, and I would be in the most beautiful galaxy.

You seem so far away, so lost out in space.

I miss you, I am alone,

    Lonesome, heartbroken…gone.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
