Alone Spirit

I've seen her - walking in the rain
She's always alone in an unknown world
Her world is gray - gripped by unknown fears
She smiles on the outside - but never on the inside
Her mind is cluttered with unspeakable thoughts
Her whole life has been one crash after another
She learned at an early age to keep to herself
That she is nothing special
She once had hope - but that is long gone
Hope only leads her closer to the bottom
Being around people is painful for her
She only wants to hide away
She has bore this pain deep within herself for so long - it has become a part of her
She sometimes tries to reach out - but fear takes hold - and she pulls back
Trust is not a word she believes in
She's given all she has - but receives nothing in return
She has nothing left to give
Yes - I've seen her - walking in the rain

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
