    Poem Commentary

It's about my girlfriend's decision to move to San Diego for her job and career and my denial of the situation.    She's already gone.

    already gone

For my heart is a barrier

that cannot resist but one carrier

Yet Your eyes are wondering off to sea

I try so hard but cannot breathe

Turn my head and hope it isn't true

It's just how much i revere my dearest you

close my mind and make belief

that one day you will not leave

    But you're Already gone.  Gone.

    Dreams of what was yesterday

My memory has turned to gray

Afraid and always live in terror

Of losing you due to my own errors

Blinded by false hopes and half truths

to escape the thought of losing you

I try to believe what you say

but the truth lies in your face

    But you're Already gone.  Gone.

It's only you that can set me free

my eyes are open but cannot see

That my views are shadowed by desire

Not knowing my heart will burn like fire

I'm running but I"m too late

    You've already left my embrace

It's too late you've made your mind

On your way out to see what you'll find

    But you're Already gone.  Gone.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
