    ANXIETY

    My blood pressure goes high
    I get a twitch in my eye
    My heart goes from normal to an arrhythmic heart beat
    I start getting beads of sweat that are soon soaking the sheet
    My throat closes up then my mind starts racing
    Then I am in my hall way pacing
    Thinking any second I am going to drop dead
    But the doctors tell me its all in my head
    I felt this way for so very long
    I just want to prove them all wrong
    Is all this from a life time of harm
    Year after year of sticking a needle into my arm
    Then it all goes away and I feel great again
    Knowing it will come back I just don’t know when

    sounds like this party could use a benadryl. I am a nurse and have found very oftn these can be from food allergies etc. just an FYI. I loved the poem, got the message, have the problem with anxiety anyway. And no needle. so write on........

    very discriptive and well written work. at first i thought the needle made you feel better here, then i woulda known why you were asking for pills :P

    very deep and well written. showing the battle of ones mind. is it truly anxiety or the abuse of drugs that has driven one crazy.

    Oh, my god. I love this poem. It's terrific. So much thought expressed into so little words. When I read this I got chills. It's an amazing poem. I am happy to have read it!
