Aunt Hattie...An-cestry!
One hundred and six, a month...Then one day.
We find through the night, you have slept-slipped away.
You might think it odd that I could not feel sad.
In my memory I looked over,
The "All's" that we had.
Time is precious when Family is center...with wisdom we gain, from many the mentor
A Great aunt you are, a great Aunt to me,
a family, a name-a heritage!...a Tree.
Oh, miss you I will but I let you live on...in time locked away, now taking your place-in, "My Ancestors Song".
Sing dear lady, with the angels above and light up the Sky!
I hear the Crescendo...I know the love.
I thank God for the times you remembered my name - I thank life, yours was long, His honor your gain.
Aunt Yie, Aunt Mammie, Grandma Elsie and now you...
I've grown up all over and often wander thru,
the fields, the flowers, the skies always blue.
I'm six, now eight and thru my teens!
I'm feeling the hugs, I'm dreaming the dreams.
You're always with me, I am living to be,
all things taught, what others will see
and they'll know I am rich...because you've put you in me.
