Best Friend

Best Friend

You’re my best friend

I just wanted you to know

Although we’re miles apart

Our friendship will always grow

You understand me like no other

And always lend your ears

Whenever I’m having problems

Or just talking about my fears

I’ll always be here for you

No matter what the cost

For if I was to lose you

I’d be forever lost

You and I have more in common

Than most people I know

You’re that special someone

To whom my true self I can show

I think you’re perfect

In each and every way

But I know you won’t believe me

No matter what I say

You’ve got a mind like Einstein

And a heart of gold

Sweeter than fine wine

After you God broke the mould

I hope you never change

Throughout the years we share

If you do it might be strange

But I know I won’t care

Because you’re that special one

That I call my best friend

And no matter what you say or do

I’ll love you till the end.

your simple, heartfelt delivery is really touching - and very romantic. whoever you're writing for, I hope they're really worthy.

Thank you very much =)

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
