Friendship

Friends you have,

Friends you know,

Friends you love,

Friends that go,

Friendship and pain,

Go hand in hand,

As sure as the rain,

Falls onto the land,

True friends are rare,

Like a four leaf clover,

But no matter how much you care,

That friendship may soon be over,

People change and forget who they were,

One minute you’re having fun,

The next it all ends in a blur,

And it’s over the friendship is done,

The past is history,

And the present is this hour,

Best to forget the memory,

Of when the friendship turned sour,

Friendships tend to come and go,

But always remember,

No matter how much you think you know,

Nothing lasts forever…

I'm thinking things went south at a rather hellish pace. strangely, I was hoping for a happier ending :)

This is really good. It describes friendship in different ways, I can relate to this poem. Thanks for sharing

perfect rhyme and great meter.......friendship is a funny thing....its not often the same to one person as it is to the other.

Excellent rhyme and rhythm, and so true are your words about friendship. Enjoyed the ending.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
