    Bottle It Up

    Can I bottle it up,
    Keep it all inside,
    Shove it down deep,
    And die inside?
    Can I bottle it up,
    Tell them all a lie,
    Put a cork on top,
    And not let anyone inside?
    Can I bottle it up,
    Keep it all inside,
    And if anyone asks,
    I'll tell them lies?
    Can I bottle it up,
    Keep it all inside,
    It'll be so much fun,
    To make life a sin,
    While we're at it,
    Tell me I'm ugly,
    Just to make it true.
    Can I bottle it up,
    Never let you in,
    Make you guess,
    And never win?
    Can I bottle it up,
    Just let me now,
I'm never gonna be too loud,
Or a girl in the crowd.
I'm just gonna bottle it up
    Until you break,
    I'm gonna make you scream,
    And wanna be mean.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
