    CARDIOVASCULAR SUPERSOAKER

I try to think of reasons not to do it
    I come up blank
    I grab myself a pen
I pull off the top and tip and remove the ink cartridge
The pen is now a hollow shell much like myself
I cut one end at a sixty degree angle leaving a nice sharp point
I jab the sharpened end into the carotid artery in the side of my neck
Blood hits the wall ten feet away
I giggle to myself as I wander around the apartment picking random targets
It won't hurt for much longer
    I'm no longer human
I'm a cardiovascular supersoaker and my ammo is almost spent

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
