Poem Commentary

she was born 4lbs 5oz, 19'', on 8/14/09. her umbilical chord was tied in a knot and wrapped around her neck. i had to go through so much shit with the hospital before i finally got to bring her home. the night after she was born i hadn't even walked through the door to the nursery and the night nurse began to tell me right away "well her stomach is too tight and we can't feed her for the next twelve hours otherwise she is gonna die". then another nurse a few days later called and left a message on my house phone saying i was an unfit mother...my foster parents jumped on my ass and had me crying because they believed a nurse that was tellin them lies bout me. they didn't know it at the time, but once they found out that those two nurses were lying assholes, it was all downhill from there. the director of the whole third floor of john c lincoln-north mountain got involved and was able to help me bring my baby girl home on 8/22/09.
