    Chances Are

Chances are - you'll look my way but, see, your eyes are blind.
Chances are - you'll talk to me, but I'm not on your mind.
Chances are - you'll smile at me, but there's no warmth in your eyes.
Chances are - you'll touch me, but your touch tells only lies.
Chances are - I care for you more than I can say.
Chances are - I shall think of you ev'ry single day.
Chances are - I want you whether you're near me, or afar.
Chances are - you won't even notice me - Chances are.

Beautiful...I can feel the quiet despair

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
