    Change

It's only speculation but I have to say it's time
To step out of the wilderness and make that wicked climb
You've stayed within the compound of the simple and sublime
But now your time is running out you finally see the signs
It's not easy when you're running
There's no path that's straight and true
It's hard to do for others what has not been done for you
You're all wrapped up and self absorbed
You have not got a clue
It's time to leave your comfort zone
    And strive for something new
You've hid within the confines and you need to be set free
One hundred million miles away is where you need to be
Let all excuse be exorcised so truth is what you'll see
Truth and mercy bring each lying devil to it's knees
    You don't need confirmations
You don't need a prophets eyes
You don't need a false foundation
    Or some one to sympathize
Your chance is blowing in the wind and you must realize
That the season of forgiveness is always on the rise
    You've ever played the victim
And it's time to change that tune
Life moves much to quickly and our end comes way to soon
Why give up the victory to the voice of rage and ruin
Why give up the hilltop to the threats of hate and doom
This is only speculation but I think you will concede
That values and morality are sown within the deeds
Of people who have problems and people who have needs
Of people who are flesh and blood and cannot help to bleed
We all could be the victim we all could stake the claim
We all could blame society for all our dirt and pain
But you have to be responsible for your own link in the chain
It's only speculation but I think it's time to change

Probative and cogent, masterfully expressive. this one is to treasure.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
