    Colored Dreams

There were so many happy times and beautiful colors of imagined dreams that bloomed in the mind,
Each smile represented the color of things that were to become and blossom into flowers of joy that knew no limits of time.

Then my world started changing and there was nothing I could do to stop the darkness from consuming me whole,
It devoured my flowers of joy as my soul was encased in sorrow and regret and I was left lonely and cold.

I was thrust out of my world of peace, joy, dreams, tranquility and beauty,
How was I to survive in a world that I wasn’t a part of, but now survival was my duty?

I feel lost in a sea of people shuffling everywhere as if they don’t even see me,
I’m being carried along with the throng, how did I lose my way, how could this be?

Where was I going and how do I get there? I just can’t remember what direction I was going in,
I feel myself slipping away slowly becoming invisible, tired of fighting a battle that I can’t win.

I can’t exist in this world no longer there is no justification for this cause, trying to continue on with this fight,
I’m looking for all of those, my brothers and sisters who share my plight.

It is time for the struggle to cease and once more I can exist in a world where joy knows no bounds and the flowers are in bloom as far as the eye can see,
Welcome back my dreams of color my world of peace for you and I will always exist together, just you and me.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
