    DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL

I HEARD YOUR SONG TODAY DADDY, AND IT TOOK ME WAY BACK IN TIME, TO WHEN I WAS DADDY'S LITTLE

GIRL, AND YOU WERE MY DADDY, ALL MINE.

I THINK I WAS EIGHT, AND YOU WERE SINGING, "PRECIOUS MEMORIES", " SHE THINKKS I STILL CARE",

    AND "ALWAYS LATE".

I OFTEN FIND MYSELF WONDERING, WHAT LIFE WOULD BE LIKE TODAY, HAD GOD SEEN FIT TO LEAVE YOU

    HERE WITH ME.

I KNOW YOU SAID FOR ME NOT TO CRY WHEN YOU WENT AWAY, BUT DADDY, I REALLY WANTED YOU TO STAY.

I WASN'T READY TO LET YOU GO, YOU WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE COME BACK HOME, NOT LEAVE ME HERE ALL

    ALONE,

I WAS DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL, HAPPY AS COULD BE, UNTIL GOD TOOK YOU AWAY FROM ME. I KNOW GOD

KNOWS BEST AND I LOVE HIM SO, BUT DADDY I JUST WASN'T READY TO LET YOU GO.

I HELD YOUR HAND, I SAW YOU CRY, BUT THE HARDEST THING I EVER DONE WAS

    TELL YOU GOODBYE

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
