    Dangling Fate

    my sole is degrading
    rubber thinning from its youth
    my laces frayed
    its unraveled thread uncouth

the road ahead of me can’t
    fathom the distance i’ve embarked
    dusk follows where i go
dawn has left me in the dark

i wait for that electric line tomorrow
to be thrown into my demise
left to hang and dangle in a joyful sorrow
to wave in the wind my eternal goodbyes

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
