Deed and Word
Love without reason,
Song without rhyme,
Kindness in season,
Patience in time,
All things considered,
Nothing forgotten,
Life will be seasoned,
Joyous or rotton,
Smell the roses,
Where you find them,
Take the least travelled trail,
Live to the fullest
And you will not fail,
Each one of us is perfect,
In our own special way,
If that's something you don't get,
For you shall I pray,
Trials, temptations,
Sin and disgrace,
Every sensation,
Is seen in your face,
Perhaps you can hide,
How you're feeling inside,
I know I tried,
And to myself lied,
All have come short,
Of the measure for grace,
And are invited to the same place,
Only one thing,
Can set any apart,
Salvation's NAME,
In the book of life,
And upon the heart,
By their fruits shall ye know
Both deed and word,
They shall show,
You believe what you heard,
The spirit inside
Is both saviour and guide,
Comfort confidence,
But never pride,
If to such a one
One day you are led,
And choose to ignore it instead
You won't know the difference,
Til after you're dead,
The chaff is discarded,
The kernel remains,
Wheat to flour on the grindstone,
Chaff to the flames.
