despair
I feel an emptyness
in the bottom of my soul
and no matter what I try
I cannot escape the hole.
I know that it is my sorrow
my self pity and pain
that push me deeper
into an endless scorching rain
I can find no sunshine
nor is there any light
and no matter how hard I strive
I seem to always lose this fight
I want to feel the sun
warming my face again
but I fear that my empty heart
knows this to be in vain
Life can be such a cruel thing
bringing such empytness and dark
I just want to rest forever
knowing that I will never leave a mark
