    Destiny

As my eyes began to wonder, looking all around.
    First up, then down.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a glare.
I quickly turned in your direction and tried not to stare.
At that moment, I knew right then.
That we could never be, just plain old friends.
The music in the room began to slowly fade.
As well as the crowd, and I was in a daze.
The way you stood out with such beauty, and grace.
A smile of an angel with a princess face.
Now realizing in my mind that this wasn’t a dream.
And that the beauty that was before me was the real thing
So out of my mouth my words began to flow.
Good evening, we’ve met before, it was a long time ago.
Now it might sound strange to you, but I knew and so did she.
    That
    Our
    Love
    Was
    Destiny.

This is absolutely beautiful. Please write more. I would love to read more of your poems. Great job!!!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
