    Poem Commentary

The dream world can often be far more appealing than the waking one...

    Disappearance

    Guided by candle light.
This road twists and turns into the night.
Though I hold you tight, I open my eyes and your not there.
    My heart knows your face.
Its this memory that I still chase.
In the morning haze, I open my eyes and your not there.

I really liked this poem. Simplistic and astonishing. Keep it up, and you'll become a wonderful writer.

That is the case with a dream - often, whether asleep or awake.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
