    Discarded Ladies

    Discarded ladies are
                  lonely through the night
    But not as lonely
                   as in the morning light.
                                            Pour a cup of coffee
                                            Have a ciggarette
                                            Another day
                                            Another regret.
    All they ever needed
    All they ever wanted
                               came and went.
    Once they were straight
    Now they are bent.
                               Discarded ladies are
                                              lonely through the night
                               But not as lonely
                                              as in the morning light.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
