    Dolphin

    In the dark blue,
I can see happiness showing to me,
the dark blue my show of glee,
the eyes of an innocent shining back at me,
the snout of that innocent breathing and blowing,
the beautiful, gray, wet skin feeling like velvet against my touch,
The beauty of which I speak of is a Dolphin of the sea.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
