    Missing You, My Dear

I miss you so much, my love
that the sun doesn't shine up above
I love you so much, my dear
I can't wait to have you near
I want you back, my sweetheart
I can't stand for us to be a part
I can't wait to see your smile, my darling
you're worth more than any farthing
You are my everything, my sweet
to me you are every treat
Time away from you, my dearest
is harder to bear than any test
Come home to me, my lover
so we can hide and cover.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
