Dreams are my Own

Dreams are my Own

Like a book without an ending

Or a priest without a prayer

I walk into my unclear future

Speculating what’s waiting there

I daydream of a perfect potential

Perhaps my head is in the clouds

But dreams can’t be taken away

Nor covered with heavy shrouds

They belong to me and me alone

I pay no huge price for them

They are always mine to call on

Never do they desert or condemn

Dreams get me through the bad days

Make the good ones even better

Like a soft down pillow

Or a comfy old sweater

Imagination can be one’s best friend

For it shall never leave you without hope

Even on your darkest day

When you feel at the end of your rope

My dreams are my own

You can not take them away

They’ll be here for me tomorrow

Just as they are today

Like Clint calmly uttered in Bridges, "I had a lot of dreams, some never came to be, but, I'm glad I had them." (or something like that). A wonderful poem, my friend...............................gogant

Thanks Wordslinger... It's nice to be back!

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
