Empty Corners
Empty Corners
The room seemed so small
scarcely a corner at all,
lonely echoes resounded
quietly bouncing, wall to wall.
With a heavy heart in his chest
his mind came to grips,
the words quietly fell
with a sigh from his lips.
How big is the room
he ventured a guess,
my guitar in the corner
my Bible on the chest?
The question was raised
my mind left to impart,
could he fill these empty corners
of my hollow, starving heart?
scarcely a corner at all,
lonely echoes resounded
quietly bouncing, wall to wall.
With a heavy heart in his chest
his mind came to grips,
the words quietly fell
with a sigh from his lips.
How big is the room
he ventured a guess,
my guitar in the corner
my Bible on the chest?
The question was raised
my mind left to impart,
could he fill these empty corners
of my hollow, starving heart?
