Eye of the Night Sky

Eye of the Night Sky

It stares at me

The eye of the night sky

Radiant with lunar light

I stare back

Braches try to defer my vision

They fail

I can see clearly

Not because the sky is clear

But because my mind is open

My eyes watching and ears listening

My mouth tasting the sweet fresh night air

The eye never moves, never blinks

It just watches me

And I watch it

I feel I could do it forever

To never take my eyes away

But, this is impossible

Because the selfish sun will come

And take the beauty if the night away from me
