When

When did it die?
How did it happen, and where was I?
When did the Reaper come? Yesterday?
Was there a message for me? What did he say?
Nothing? Well, where were you?
Not by my side? What gave you that clue?
What? Who told me? Does that even matter?
I heard dead men tell no tales. So can we stop the chatter?
Can we stop the lies? Can we try the truth?
You say you're my friend! Can you show me some proof?
Maybe a certificate? Even a photo would suffice.
Hell a childhood story would be nice!
What's that, nothing? Oh, so the cat has your tongue?
No, then why so quiet? Never mind I think we're done.
But, before I leave and end all of this.
Can I ask? What happened to friendship?

Well stated young man, I believe you have talent so continue to invest time in writing and share your works with your family...who knows you could be our next Langhston Hughes.

Thank you very much. I try to write as much as I can.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
