    fate

as i sit in this cell reading the good book

i pick up the mirror and take a good look

the person i see is no longer a child

and cant keep living the same life style

lend me for a moment your eyes and your ears

for this young man has seen alot in his years

i've been on both sides of stabbings and shootings

i've been in car jackings, robbings, and lootings

soon i found myself in jail and obviously out of luck

all for the sake of making a few quick bucks

i've even seen tears well up in the eyes of so called "THUGS"

as a mislead child, who society has labeled a criminal, longs for somebody to hug

my 21st birth day is around the corner and i will have to become a man

for i am about to re-enter a world filled with chaos and no one to hold my hand

i hope GOD has good plans in stoer for me, when i walk out these gates

for as history has shown, you can run and you can hide . . .

. . . but you cant escape your fate

thank you, i guess i really just was skeptical about writting as myself so i used my girlfriends name for my screen name but the poem is my life on paper, im Victor and once again, thank you for the compliment on the poem and i guess that makes two of us that are happy i escaped from that lifestyle.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
