    Fear

    10-1991 Fear

Some days come up so lonely
    The resistance is so slight
    I might be disappearing
    Amidst the crowds
    I tiptoe and stretch
    And look into the eyes
    Of faces as they pass
    Hear the buzzing
    Sounds for the sake
    Of hearing
    I wonder
    If their promises
    Will ever come to pass
    The silence within me
    Screams to be heard
    Yet not one word
    Have I spoken
    Reality deals some
    Complicated hands to play
    This one is rigged
I never wanted to sit in on the game
Anticipation mounts as I wait for the next move
    The shadows seem to quiver
    Tis only fear of failing

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
