Fearless in Death

Fearless in Death

In this, the wake of all that I am

Now passing of faded hope from my hand

As life yet lingering deep within

Begins to slip to a destined end

My breath escapes me with words of regret

As my chest now slows its rhythmic set

Belie of all I fear not death

Indifference becomes me in final breath

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
