    Forever in a Dream

    Dreams of peace are abandoned
    as anguish and eternal flames flicker across a dying sea
    etching a memory
    and, what was seen long ago destroyed innocense
    But, dreams... lived in the false belief, that we were not at war
    However, most wars are waged behind closed doors
    Paid for with worthless currency ~ yet profitable -- indeed
    And, in a dream, a life could mean more to the powers that be;
    and, more than any mans' greed
    And, if I could close my eyes, pretend that I can't see ~
    I'd still be aware and filled with despair
    the echo of sadness vibrating in my soul ~

    Very Deep. The imagery and flow are both superb and the emotion is tangible! Very Nice Job! .... Ken

    HI Ken, I had to get back to this and thank you for sharing your thoughts on this with me. It feels good to know that what I feel really comes out in my work. I am honored. Peace be with you...

    I agree with Rygar, this is a sad piece, but then again not all dreams are sad. Koolmom

    as we look we see so much that make our heart hurt and cause sadness we are lookinf forward to a brighter day ggod job

    A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
