    Poem Commentary

I haven't been on this site in ages, I've just recently started using it, and, well, you can say, this is my first piece. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks. :)

    Forever More

At The end of the day, the sun goes down
Yet, it is at night when I feel most alive
My love for you conquests this manic virus
Which is the disease of loneliness that has
Festered my emotional State of mind
Enabling me to feel the forbidden flame that
Annihilated this wretched curse from within me
This  amorous feeling you have bestowed upon
Me has lifted the gloomy dour veil from my face
Denoting things I've only wished and dreamed of
Inside there is a garden filled with assorted flowers
These rose petals I shall hurl into the night
Sky signifying all the doubts that I've cast aside
And the tears of shame that I've shed will
Be washed away by the rain
For your love has cleansed my heart and soul
    Once again making me whole
Therefore, I promise, as long as I have
Breath within me, to always be yours, forever more.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
