Re: dancing with a poet-take on TP's world's collide

Well well well....

Now, wasn't that a sweet little word trip to take...??? Super nice job melding the various pieces together into one harmonious story with great flow to it... Only noticed a couple of minor cadence glitches, but overall you did one hellova job with that piece of work... I couldn't have even begun to touch that job... Major kudo's from here... Standing O, Applauding profusely, and adding to the growing whoops, and stinging whistles now echoing around the whole auditorium... Bravo...... Bravo......... cool cheese

Re: dancing with a poet - thank you for allowing me and my dancing partner Maddi to join the party

Our Daydream Dance

My best friend danced with me in my dreams last night, and today as I wake we will walk side by side - soul to soul.

I will ask her to take my hand and to dance with me in the daylight.

The music will play in our hearts and as we touch nothing else will matter, the world around us will fade away - our steps will float as we leave the floor.

The love that we share will lift our souls to unimaginable heights of ecstasy.

Each move will hold our united embrace as if choreographed to perfection, for in our night dreams this dance has been practiced endlessly.

She is my partner for life, and as I look into her eyes her spirit beckons me to take the lead.

As I hold her by the waste, I caress her body into new positions.

Our passion becomes our guide as we lose complete control.

The waltz is set into motion playing out to our own unique rhythm.

There is no conclusion to our creation of romance - a dance that will never end.

Let our destiny be; not to ever wake from this day-dream dance.

All right SoulWriter, This is what I've been screaming..
Dj tone it down a bit, let's have a slow dance.
Poets call your crush to the dance floor
Poem it out, because we want more.

Dj play,

Iris - the Goo Goo dolls ...
for the couples...

Re: dancing with a poet

words, words, so many words....
what
where
when
why
now?
with whom?
she, he, they, we?
so DAMN the words
just let me DANCE...
to dance or not to dance
was that the question?
well, start the music
or bang a bottle
I am revving up, now full throttle...
like an exhibitionist I'll be
seductively moving
audience or not
no soul needs to be looking....
moving to music , slow or fast
creating flourishes in the air...
telling a wordless story....
alone, or as a pair...

AHHH...you too?!
come join me
take my hands
let's weave in and out
you first, me next
be fearless about touching
full bodied back- to- back
feel our silent clues?
no dont's for now, just do's!!
I'll push you with my hip
and reel you in again...
oh, let us do the dip ...
bend backwards
I'll hold you tight
I feel like a dragon-fly
so gracious and light...
darting here, fluttering there
Except, for me of course
no other reason
than for the hell of it!!
you know, this kind of nexus
better than having sexus...?!
WHOOPS!!
the music is gone
and we didn't even notice!
let's get off our feet
and stop just for a while...
I'm sweating like a pig
and red as a cooked beet!!

Re: dancing with a poet

Have You Ever Danced With Fear

The nights were dark
Stars bright and glistening
To the thoughts of my soul
I thought no one was listening
He took my hand
It wasn't that hard
There for the taking like a misplaced card
I held tight as the icy fear encased me
Holding so tight the fire
could not set me free
For I was dancing under the stars
With fear as my partner
Baring all scars
Have you ever fallen
but never hit the ground
Saw the rain drop
and never heard the sound
Stuck in the nothingness
with people all around
Have you ever screamed with all of your might
Not to be noticed, by any one in sight
Dancing the night away with a friend so dear
Holding him closely..... my friend fear
Have you ever been held captive
by the scariest of men
Your best friend, wouldn't you have let him in
Have you ever held your newborn
knowing something wasn't right
Seventeen, tears flowing, full of fright
Knowing your decisions
will save or take her life
I have danced with fear
watching my
dreams.....
hopes....
dry up with the tears
As I dance here in the darkness
and the night fades helplessly to day
My fear has gone away
Not to worry for fear and I shall dance another day

Blood and Champaigne (a vampires waltz)

From sunset to sunrise we dance, Elegant in style,
We hold our glasses High filled to the rim,
As we circle the grand ballroom, Visions of night,
Our capes flow with the rythm, Swirling in the fog,
We take a sip, then another, find her neck while taking a dip,
Blood and Champaigne, A taste like no other,
We bow to our partners as we lick our lips,
Taking her hand as once more we dance,
No reflections in the mirrors as we twirl around, Left to right,
Forward and back, Such a magnificent sight, A waltz without end,
The fireplace roars from broken glass,
As we all fade back into the black,
From sunrise to sunset we must rest,
For the evening brings back the children of the night,
And once more we will play......

The Dance of Friendship

The Dance of Friendship

When you become friends there is a flip.
You know when the flip occurs:
one minute you are a stranger, and
then everything flips.
No more sir, buddy, or no-name.
Suddenly you get called by your first name and
things around you just seem to relax.
It takes time...
not one day.
It’s hard to say when the flip occurs, but
when it happens you know it,
that becomes that,
and then you can take it easy

Vanessa's Aria

Microphone in hand
take a deep breath
sing my song

Pour a piece of my soul
into every word
A piece of my heart
in every line

The stage is my journal
filled with ideas and stories
I want to sprinkle down
on my captive audience
every melody chosen with care

Dance along to my lyrics
written specifically for you
Feel the rush of adrenalin
with every rise and fall
of my poetic music

Knowing my libretto
touches your spirit
in some small way
is like the sound of
thunderous applause to me

Re: dancing with a poet

Can I dance with you? I'll do the moonwalk! You do the electric slide! But later on I wanna touch them thighs! My ohhhh my.......you make it do what it do? To keep up with you I will need a new pair of shoes! You burn like rub and hot like fire! Disco enferno is what everybody hollered! Dancing with the devil is pretty tempting......I will need lots of water because my tank is going to get empty! tongue wink
