RE: Where have all the gentle poems gone....???I think people should write what they feel regardless of who gets offended. I am not good with writing dark poetry because i don't have a lot of dark experiences but some of our friends here can only express this through their writing. The only thing I will say is write from the heart no matter the content but dont write to follow the crowd. I am sensing a lot of that going on. Other than that, stay true to who you are and if the readers don't like it then oh well! On a different note, if you want to read gentle poetry then take a look at mine from time to time. I offer a little bit of every emotion you could possibly imagine. |

RE: Where have all the gentle poems gone....???As many of you have discovered, the Ode to Cars series is a reaction to the deepest part of my brain that is being influenced by my surroundings. As a result of this forum, 7 has been released. |

RE: Where have all the gentle poems gone....???I just wanted to say that I don't think this post was offensive in any way, and if people take it that way, then that is their choice. But, I do not understand why it would be offensive to ask such a question. I just think gogant was being honest and asking sincerely. I love what was written by one of the commenters here: Voice your dis-satisfaction without fear of insult, Disagree to agree, but do not retreat, but rather to stick to your poetic guns. |

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
