    FOUR POEM ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS

    FOUR POEM ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS

          MOTHER

    House made a home

    two kids, her own.

    Work five days a

    week.

    Sun-up, sunrise,

    to evening’s moonrise,

    stars shine pale in their

    course.

    Now crown her

    Queen for a day.

        SNOW

    There is snow

    in the yard

    snow on the hill,

    snow on the neat

    tiled roof.

    There is snow in the

    sky raining down on

us. We stand in the cold

    looking up asking “WHY”?

              EZRA

    Ezra Pound sat with

    pen in hand,

    and a ½ consumed bottle

of gin, it was his only friend.

    Smoke curled up

    through his hair

    from the cigarette ash

    poked in his cheek.

He writes his entire life story

    chiseling it in

    black ink.

    “Here read”. he says

    Pushing it

    toward me.

It will take a life time to read,

    perhaps two.

    “Then read quickly.”

    TAN HANDS

    The snow falls. White all,

    cold creeps in,

    like cold does

    because it’s in

    its nature.

    My hands are

    still tan from the

    summer’s heat;

    from summer’s sweat;

    Smiling I remember.
