    Had I known

    I never knew
    how bright the stars shine
    in the midnight sky
    and then I met you

    I never knew how beautiful
    the ocean could be
as it rolls back into the sea
kissing the sand at my feet
    and then I touched you

    I wish I knew
    if you knew
how may heart skips a beat
feel how my skin reacts when you enter the room
    and then I kissed you

    I've never know
    the need to touch someone
as much as I need to touch you
    and then I held you
    missed you
    licked you
    filled you
    heard you
    and now I see you
    oh, how I love you

    Had I known
    and
    if I could
    I would have been here
    sooner

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
