I Want To Be Found

I Want To Be Found

And then
When I die
I want to be found dancing.
Shaking my booty, so deep in the cut
The beat could not help but follow.

I want to be found
Savoring the juice of my favorite fruit, or
Putting on a new suite
Inhaling the fragrances of a hibiscus
Unafraid, throwing caution to the wind
Willing to risk it.

I want to be found
In a pair of high heels and a short skirt or
Planting sunflower seeds, hands deep in dirt
I want to be running outside in the rain getting wet,
Realizing that first moment of friendship of someone I recently met

I want to be found
Making a difference in someone’s life
Sharing some new insight-excepting my plight

I want to be found in New York City
Hanging out at Washington Park, just walking around
Hoping to see that dog that jumps four feet off the ground
Singing a love song, gospel or jazz
Happy to know love knows no distant or time
Or finding a love that will last, not fast
Passing on a joke that still makes me laugh
So hard it bends me in half

I want to be found
With my friends who have become my family
Or searching the skies through a camera lens

I want to be found
Playing a violin …….For Real

It’s very simple you see
When I die
I want to be
found full of life cause
It’s my life
which will set me free.

The last 3 lines do not have cadence. The word "cause" doesn't fit well. Try a thesuras and find one that fits.

Lisa, You are too kind. I am so glad these words had such a positive effect on you. I will be reading some of your work as well.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
