    Happiness

    The toothless smile

Small and cuddling in my arms

    Smiling back saying sweet nothings

His eyes looking at my face

While I try to gauge his feelings

    Nothing expected

    Nothing desired

Yet smiling at me while waving his small arms around

    Asking me to embrace him

My eyes light up when I see him

    The sudden smiles he spreads

    Such trust, such bond

    Nothing asked

    Nothing desired

    It is a pleasure

    Watching my son

Bundle of my joy and happiness.

The magic of the joy within a child. Uplifting is not saying enough. Ecstatic is getting close. But that joy and marvel mixed into one experience is unexplainable. It is the moment, even the loving father feels too much separation each day from the arrival into the world. a poet friend//RH Peat
