Haunting past

Haunting past

In his eyes I can see the torment his soul a fragile piece of glass,

“My life isn’t worth living,” he says, “There’s too much in my past.”

My arms ache to hold him, but with each attempt he pushes me away.

“I don’t deserve your love,” he says, “You’d be better off with out me in the way.”

My heart begins to shatter as I cry out his name,

I finally get to hold him, but it’s just not the same.

His eyes see no more, his soul is completely torn

The rivers of tears I shed can not bring him back,

As I watch him give in to the demons of his past.

I like this line the rivers of tears I shd can not bring him back. If the past beats him up its a tough choice on rather hes a keeper or gooner. the poem push me to the edge of reading great write, I would like to see more of your work.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
