    You loved me any way

Divorce is never easy, especially on the kids.
I took all my hurt inside and passed it on to you,
but you loved me any way.
When my “father” broke me, left me with out a care,
you took me in your arms and dried all my tears,
and you loved me any way.
I wish I could turn the hands of time
and take back what I’ve said,
but even with all the pain I’ve caused,
    you love me any way.
I realize now, as the days go by,
I never understood you, I never really tried,
but you love me any way.
I extend my hand now in surrender and hope you do the same.
Let us cast aside the blame
and love each other any way.

This is a very tender and heartfelt piece. I had a rough childhood. It always helps to get it out on paper if nothing else. Keep your dreams alive

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
