Heavy Metal Rebel

Poem Commentary

a poem of strength.

Heavy Metal Rebel

Floorboarding a roaring engine
crashing through the gates of every sin
diving down, deep down into hell
writhing to the sound of the last bell

pounding, pounding away
the hammer crushes the anvil
night slams into the middle of day
the devil is gonna pay the bill

make way for the heavy metal rebel
heavy metal, rebel
heavy metal, rebel

supercharged like a load of dynamite
gonna explode and light up the night
flesh and bones we're all alone
scream with passion's groan

pounding, pounding away
the hammer crushes the anvil
night slams into the middle of the day
the devil is gonna pay the bill

make way for the heavy metal rebel
heavy metal, rebel
heavy metal, rebel

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
