How Unfair

Poem Commentary

This is a reflection on what I suffered in the hands of motor traffic task force in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, South-South Nigeria where twenty three thousand naira was extorted from me with no due cause, ofcourse its a structure of Govt.

How Unfair

How very unfair, the concept of power
we sow our votes to empower one
to overpower all
as if thats not enough
we're bullied and totured, cowed and fouled
all by the power we willingly offer
may not be the case in some developed states
but its what we face in our third world states
what more can I say, was it really my vote?
never was an election, the observer I quote
a dictatorship on the wings of democracy
or demo'crazy', Fela I quote
a demonstration of craze says 'Abami Eda'
today I was bullied, so badly totured
a task force they call them to bully for the Law, enriching the tout, frustrating the humble
with hard faces that never have done good
in my opinion; this is worse than militancy & robbery than pirates & piracy
thats my plight in my country Nigeria!
How unfair...........
Oh, Please,... to be continued....

I can't imagine, we are so spoiled and think we have it so bad...others have paved our way, we just sit and whine...craziness in the world... a sad state of affairs you write about...

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
