    I Am Me

I don't want to be beautiful.

    It causes to many problems.

I don't want to be skinny.

    I won't be happy.

I don't want to wear tight clothes.

I will have to fight them to get them off.

I don't want to wear make up.

    I will break out.

I don't want to get my hair done.

    I want to be natural.

I don't want to get my nails done.

    They get in the way.

I don't want to wear perfume.

    It will attract bees.

i don't want to wear jewelery.

It will blind me in the light.

    I don't want expansive materials.

It will crush my soul when it goes.

I don't want to have friends.

    They are too bothersome.

    I don't want to have a partner.

    They will drive me insane.

I don't want to have children.

The world is already over populated.

I don't want to be successful.

    I will be assassinated.

I don't want to have fun.

There is too much for me to do.

I don't want to be rich.

It will drag me to Hell.

I don't want to be famous.

    I am already paranoid.

I don't want to be talented.

    People will use me.

I don't want to forget my past.

    Too much to learn from.

    I don't want to forgive.

It will cause me more pain.

I don't want to listen to you.

    You are crazy.

    This is my life.

Let me live it the way I want to.

What ever happened to "Be yourself"?

Just so you can change me?

No, I don't want to be like you.

If being happy means I have to look like that, I'd rather rot in Hell.

I may not be a sight of pleasure,

I may not sound so sweet,

    I may not think "normal",

    But at least I'm me.

    I am real.

    I will stay this way.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
