I LIKE SOCRATES

Poem Commentary

Philosephers baffle me. I'd like to be one.

I LIKE SOCRATES

I LIKE SOCRATES 04-17--11

I like Socrates.

I am not sure why I like Socrates...

I just know that I do.

I like Aristotle, but

not as much as I like Socrates,

for no reason that I know of.

I'm just stubborn that way.

I take an ignorant jump,

due to lack of information

to fairly judge my situation.

It is one against the other.

I believe Plato was just

as important as Aristotle.

I'm not sure why I think this,

but I believe it's true.

Aristotle, Plato, Socrates,

I can never remember the order

in which they influenced and

mentored each other.

This trouble is always given me

when I judge myself too harshly

The fact that I like Socrates

should give me a savant's reprieve.

But that would be a shame to me

If I did not want to know

the reason I love one of them

anymore than the other

when, really I hardly

know any of them at all.
